Las Hornillas

Waterfalls, Rainforest and Active Crater

Tour Details

This tour to Las Hornillas includes a visit to the foothills of the Miravalles Volcano. Here you can enjoy the unique experience of walking inside an active crater! You can witness the volcanic activity close-up. Observe pools of hot water, pots of bubbling mud, fumaroles, and sulphur deposits. Then, bathe in therapeutic volcanic mud & soak in the hot springs.

Then we will go by either horse or tractor leaving the volcanic activity centre and taking you to a private reserve called Cabro Muco, where you will see 4 waterfalls, pass over 3 hanging bridges and walk for 40 minutes in transitional rain forest. Then relax in the crystal clear water of the "Hidden Waterfall". This impressive and isolated mountain is reserved for nature lovers.

Optional Add On: If interested, we can visit the little known waterfall of El Llano de Cortez where you can take pictures and have a refreshing dip before continuing to the rainforest. Please add $10 pp for the entrance fee.
